Bilingual Hybrid Senior Immigration Attorney

Position Summary: SEPA Mujer is seeking a full-time Bilingual Senior Immigration Attorney with a strong commitment to social justice and experience working with immigrant survivors of gender-based violence. The Bilingual Senior Immigration Attorney will be responsible for providing direct legal services, including representation in immigration matters such as VAWA self-petitions, U visas, T visas, SIJS, naturalization, and TPS applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Director of Legal Programs to implement strategic initiatives, support community engagement efforts, and ensure high-quality legal assistance for SEPA Mujer’s clients. Responsibilities: ● Provide direct legal representation to immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in immigration cases. ● Manage a caseload of immigration matters, including VAWA self-petitions, U visas, T visas, SIJS, naturalization, and TPS applications. ● Conduct intakes, assess client eligibility for immigration relief, and provide legal consultations. ● Collaborate with the Director of Legal Programs to ensure the successful implementation of SEPA Mujer’s legal initiatives. ● Assist in the development of legal strategies and participate in advocacy efforts related to immigrant and women's rights. ● Work in partnership with the other programs to support SEPA Mujer’s holistic approach to community empowerment. ● Supervise and mentor legal interns and pro bono volunteers. ● Maintain accurate client records, case files, and data in compliance with grant and organizational requirements. ● Responsible for the program's reporting. ● Conduct Know Your Right Presentation, workshops and training to stakeholders. ● Represent SEPA Mujer at community events, workshops, and presentations on legal rights and services. ● Stay current on changes in immigration law and policy to ensure high-quality legal representation. Qualifications: ● Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school. ● Admission to practice law in New York State (required). ● A minimum of 3 years of experience in immigration law, particularly working with survivors of gender-based violence (VAWA, U visas, T visas, SIJS). ● Experience representing clients in sensitive matters related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. ● Fluency in Spanish (required). ● Strong commitment to social justice and the mission of SEPA Mujer. ● Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. ● Ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. ● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments. ● Experience supervising legal interns or volunteers is a plus. ● Familiarity with nonprofit legal services and community lawyering is preferred. ● Competence in using office applications, legal databases, and electronic research tools. ● Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for community events and outreach. Bilingual Thriving Latina's Project Coordinator

Job Description: About the Role The Thriving Latinas Project Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of program coordination for our Thriving Latinas Program. This program is part of the Culturally Specific Services Program (CSSP), funded through the Department of Justice - Office for Violence Against Women. The CSSP's primary goal is to support victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking in obtaining and maintaining stability in their lives. Our goal is to serve a client base composed of 50% survivors of sexual assault (SA) and 50% survivors of other victimizations. To provide this critical support, SEPA Mujer offers to clients: Case management Financial literacy classes Housing search, education, and housing rights English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction Arte para la sanación y la unión Workforce development Healing and herbal remedies workshops Holistic health sessions Safety Planning Healing from past trauma is a cornerstone of our program, provided through "Knitting Our Stories" (our healing counseling group), Arte para la sanación y la unión, and other traditional cultural healing activities. Key Responsibilities Actively recruit new participants for the Thriving Latinas Program and complete intakes, while ensuring strong engagement strategies to retain current participants. Work collaboratively in a team environment while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow directions independently. Coordinate with instructors and schedule program classes/workshops such as ESL, Art Class, etc. Promote classes within the community and create flyers and marketing materials. Work with women individually and in groups to build positive self-esteem and confidence. Support participants in identifying and setting goals for their future. Help participants learn entrepreneurial skills to build their own businesses and achieve financial stability through financial literacy training. Guide participants through the job search process, including resume preparation and interview readiness (language, attire, and communication practice). Facilitate computer literacy workshops with the assistance of interns/volunteers. Work collaboratively with the project team, SEPA Mujer staff, and program partners. Provide internal referrals to existing SEPA Mujer services (AYUDA Latina hotline, legal immigration relief, counseling, cash assistance, housing) and external referrals to partner agencies. Plan and coordinate the yearly Thriving Latinas Expo in collaboration with cultural partners. Supervise all Thriving Latinas Workshops, including group registration and attendance. Conduct weekly supervision with the Program Officer and attend all required staff and project meetings. Document all services provided accurately in the Salesforce database and maintain proper time recording for funding purposes. Maintain up-to-date weekly internal program reports and semiannual reports. Volunteer at a minimum of two major fundraising events per year. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Master of Social Work (MSW) required. Language Skills: Must be fully Bilingual in English and Spanish (required). Work Experience: Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working directly with victims and survivors of trauma/violence. Transportation: Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle to transport oneself across Long Island for program needs. Strong knowledge of gender-based violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and trauma-informed care. Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment as well as follow directions and work independently. Experience working with immigrant communities. About the Role: The HEAL Project Coordinator leads the implementation of SEPA Mujer’s Cultural Bridges for Health Equity / Puentes Culturales Para la Equidad de Salud project. This initiative empowers underserved Latina immigrant women and low-income families in Suffolk County to overcome systemic healthcare barriers, navigate health systems with confidence, and build community leadership. The Coordinator oversees an 11-month Health Equity Advocacy Leadership (HEAL) Cohort, instructs interactive classes, delivers health-cultural competency training to major healthcare provider networks, executes the annual Health Equity Summit, and addresses community fears surrounding healthcare access, language rights, and privacy concerns. Key Responsibilities & Core Objectives: 1. HEAL Cohort Management & Instruction ● Cohort Organization & Recruitment: Organize, recruit, retain, and manage a minimum of 50 community members for an 11-month HEAL Leadership Cohort through grassroots outreach, social media campaigns, chapter meetings, and partner referrals. ● Class Facilitation: Lead and instruct engaging workshops and classes covering health literacy, patient rights, digital literacy in healthcare, culturally tailored health education, accessing language services, and social determinants of health. ● Graduation & Leadership: Host a formal graduation ceremony awarding Certificates of Completion and transitioning graduates into ongoing community health advocacy roles. 2. Healthcare Systems Navigation & Client Transportation ● Health Systems Navigation: Guide community members through healthcare systems, assist with scheduling primary care appointments, and establish connections with specialty care providers. ● Insurance & Public Benefits Guidance: Assist clients in understanding private medical insurance policies, navigating coverage options, and applying for public benefits and programs available to uninsured individuals. ● Direct Client Transportation: Transport clients directly to medical appointments across the Long Island service area as needed using personal vehicles (reimbursed). ● Site Outreach & Tabling: Conduct regular tabling, one-on-one education, and outreach at healthcare partner sites. ● Resource Distribution: Collaborate with the Bilingual Community Liaison and the Equity & Community Empowerment (ECE) Department to distribute 1,000+ bilingual resource packages, provider directories, and "Know Your Rights" guides. 3. Health Provider Cultural Competency & Systems Advocacy ● Provider and Partner Training: Facilitate Health-Cultural Competency and Trauma-Informed Care workshops for healthcare professionals and leadership across 11 partner institutions. ● Coalition & Partner Collaboration: Work closely with regional health partners, advocacy coalitions, and task forces to address community fears when seeking medical care. ● Health Equity Summit: Coordinate and execute the annual Health Equity Summit to train healthcare and human service professionals on culturally sensitive service delivery. 4. Data Collection, Metrics & Grant Reporting ● Outcome Tracking: Monitor program progress to hit established grant deliverables: ○ Minimum 50 HEAL Cohort participants graduating with certificates. ○ Minimum 11 Community Health Partners trained in cultural competency. ○ Minimum 500 total community members directly reached and supported. ○ Target minimum navigation metrics: 135 primary care appointments scheduled, 75 attended visits, 50 specialist connections, 50 health insurance utilization support, 85 public benefits enrollments, and 105 patient portal setups. ● Evaluation: Administer pre- and post-workshop evaluation surveys to evaluate class effectiveness, refine curricula, and prepare reports for leadership and funders. Qualifications and Skills: ● Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Community Health, Human Services, or a related field required. ● Experience: 2–3 years of experience in community organizing, public health outreach, project coordination, supervision of staff/volunteers, and case management. ● Instructional Experience: Demonstrated experience teaching, instructing classes, or facilitating workshops for adult learners and community members. ● Community engagement and recruitment for the entire project. ● Health System & Insurance Knowledge: ○ Strong working knowledge of local healthcare systems, clinical workflows, and patient navigation strategies. ○ Solid understanding of medical insurance coverage (Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance). ○ Demonstrated knowledge of public benefits, Safety Net options, and financial assistance programs for uninsured or underinsured immigrants. ● Partner & Cohort Management: Proven ability to organize structured cohorts and build productive collaborative relationships with institutional healthcare partners. ● Language Proficiency: Must be professionally bilingual in Spanish and English with excellent verbal, written, and translation skills. ● Transportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, clean driving record, and full willingness to transport clients to medical appointments and other needs across Long Island. ● Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace, Canva, and data tracking tools. POSITION OVERVIEW SEPA Mujer is seeking a passionate Youth Project Coordinator to empower the next generation of leaders across Long Island. This role leads youth leadership facilitation, advocacy, and direct community engagement. You will design leadership workshops, mentor participants, build school partnerships, and guide projects that advance immigrant rights, environmental justice, and gender equity. Working closely with SEPA Mujer’s Program Coordinator and Program Outreach Coordinator, you will also supervise seasonal college interns (one summer, one academic year) and run specialized initiatives tailored for local young Latinx. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES School & Community Partnerships: ● Work directly with local schools to introduce youth programming, build strong community partnerships, and drive participant recruitment. ● Recruit guest speakers for workshops, action campaigns, and youth initiatives. Social Justice & Campaign Collaboration: ● Collaborate closely with the Senior Organizer to develop and execute social justice campaigns, including voter engagement, financial literacy, digital media workshops, and identity-focused initiatives. Youth Workshops & Leadership Clubs: ● Lead biweekly Youth Leadership Workshops and Advocacy Clubs, as well as the Patchogue leadership chapter for women and teenagers to strengthen civic engagement and service-learning skills. Digital & Career Skill Building: ● Assist with monthly Digital Civic Engagement Workshops and offer monthly career, wellness, and future planning workshops led by Latina professionals for alumni, school-based participants, and clients' daughters. Position Summary: The Community Health Liaison / Enlace de Salud Comunitaria will develop and facilitate program activities and partner with local healthcare providers for SEPA Mujer’s Vida Digna: Respuesta Comunitaria project. Responsibilities include tracking participant progress, providing individualized support, and ensuring successful skill development. The individual will attend outreach events, promote the program together with the Program Coordinator, conduct presentations, and assist with workshops and classes. Additionally, they will manage social media posts and reach out to organizations and agencies that could benefit from the program, working in collaboration with and under the direction of the Program Coordinator and Program Officer. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Program Facilitation, Education & Navigation ● Develop and deliver bilingual workshops for community members on preventive health, mental health, nutrition, financial empowerment, computer literacy, and employment readiness. ● Provide individualized resource navigation and case support to guide participants through healthcare, mental health, housing, public benefits, and employment resources. ● Track individual participant progress, monitor skill development, and provide follow-up care coordination to ensure warm handoffs and service completion. ● Operate and respond to calls through the Ayuda Latina hotline, conducting intake, needs assessments, and direct referrals. ● Coordinate transportation assistance (rideshare, bus tickets) and emergency housing/Safe Night Hotel placements for participants, particularly survivors of gender-based violence and isolated farmworkers. Community Outreach, Partnerships & Engagement ● Conduct direct outreach in rural and geographically isolated areas of Suffolk County (e.g., East End, Hampton Bays, Riverside), including a minimum of 20 farm outreach visits and a minimum of 15 community events. ● Partner with local healthcare providers (such as Northwell Health and Sun River Health) to facilitate access to screenings, preventive care, and health education. ● Deliver a minimum of 10 "Know Your Rights" sessions in partnership with the Eastern Farm Workers Association to inform farmworkers of legal protections. ● Manage social media content and digital campaigns to engage approximately 10,000 individuals with culturally relevant health information and program resources. ● Support the recruitment and facilitation of the Community Advisory Group to gather participant feedback and guide service delivery. Data Tracking, Compliance & Administration ● Maintain accurate case notes, hotline logs, workshop attendance records, and transportation/voucher tracking reports in database systems (e.g., EmpowerDB). ● Assist in evaluation activities by administering pre-/post-workshop surveys, collecting participant feedback, and generating data reports for project reporting. ● Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and organizational events under the supervision of the Program Officer. Qualifications & Requirements: ● Bilingual Fluency: Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (written and spoken) required. Fluency in Indigenous languages is a plus. ● Experience: 2+ years of experience in community health, case management, health navigation, social work, or community organizing, ideally working with immigrant populations, farmworkers, or survivors of trauma. ● Community Connection: Lived experience or deep cultural responsiveness working with Latino/a/x communities, agricultural workers, and rural populations in Long Island. ● Core Skills: Excellent communication, public speaking, workshop facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
