  • Position: Senior Manager and Community Initiatives 
  • Reports To: Program Officer 
  • Hours/Week: 40 hours (Full-Time), In-Office Position, Patchogue, NY 
  • FLSA Status: Exempt 
  • Salary: $60,000–$65,000, commensurate with experience.

Position Summary The Senior Manager and Community Initiatives will lead grassroots leadership development and community power-building while serving as the primary coordinator for the Welcoming New York Program. This role balances field-based organizing with rigorous project management to meet annual engagement goals.+1

Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination & Supervision:
    • Staff Oversight: Supervise and guide the Chapter Coordinator and Welcoming Navigator.
    • Compliance: Ensure services are free and adhere to NYS IT accessibility policies.
    • Grant Management: Oversee evidence-gathering to align with HF and ONA requirements.
  • Community Organizing & Outreach:
    • Chapter Management: Maintain and conduct meetings in Hampton Bays, Patchogue, Riverside, and Huntington Station.
    • Know Your Rights (KYR): Organize workshops, including ICE Raid Preparedness.
    • Material Development: Coordinate printing/distribution of outreach materials with required logos and hotline numbers.
  • Law-Related Support & Intake:
    • Intake Strategy: Oversee deployment of Welcoming Navigators for initial assessments of vulnerable populations.
    • Legal Collaboration: Partner with HF legal service providers for immigration filings and benefits.
    • Referral Management: Ensure clients access critical needs like health services and school enrollment.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Enhanced Reporting: Responsible for quarterly and biweekly reporting to HF and ONA.
    • Data Integrity: Maintain meticulous logs of assessments and trends.
    • Database Management: Track legal cases and appointments.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in community or labor organizing; Long Island immigrant community experience preferred.
  • Language: Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Technical: Proficient in data management, word processing, Excel, and Canva.+1
  • Travel: Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
  • Training: Required to attend HF professional development training.
  • Availability: Open to working some evenings and weekends.
